Nathan Samuels practices as Counsel within CHW’s Private Client Team, advising both local and international clients. Nathan’s practice has a focus on estate planning, non-contentious probate and receivership applications, and post-probate administration.
Nathan routinely drafts powers of attorney, wills, trust instruments, deeds of family arrangement and other estate planning documents that strike an important balance between being appropriately concise and yet tailored to the specific concerns of the client that can arise as a result of internal family dynamics, complex structuring or cross-border issues.
Nathan has experience providing in-house advice as trust legal counsel and appreciates the day-to-day workings of a trust company and the task of balancing the fiduciary obligations of a trustee against the demands of a high-net-worth client base. Nathan often advises corporate trustees on the rights of various parties to the trust, drafting of trust documentation and trust administration practices.
As part of his private client practice, Nathan is also capable of providing property advice to his clients – specifically as it relates to the impact of immigration and stamp duty regulations associated with the acquisition and/or sale of inherited real estate.
Nathan is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and often speaks at nonprofit events within the community to raise awareness around estate planning issues for seniors.
