Bermuda Beneficial Ownership Regime -

Deadline further extended

On 28 February 2019, the Bermuda Ministry of Finance has given notice that the deadline for updating or verifying the beneficial ownership register (the “Register”) for companies, limited liability companies and partnerships has been further extended from 28 February 2019 to 30 April 2019.

Legislation introducing the requirement for all companies, limited liability companies and partnerships to gather and maintain a register of beneficial ownership was enacted by the Bermuda Government and became operational on 23 March 2018.  The Register is to be maintained by the corporate entity and the corporate service provider, with a copy to be filed with the Bermuda Monetary Authority. The Register may be accessed by or on behalf of the Registrar of Companies of Bermuda by request.
